Hi wisty friends! This is a new space —the gallery—where we get to feature a diverse array of artists and various forms of media alongside each other.
Like everything we do, this platform will be constantly evolving both in content and form, with the main intention of providing a consistent space for our community to regularly share their work that is not confined to only print zines. EVERYTHING IS AROUNG YOU---Everything is around you is a continuing series of photos that take a look at sex and identity through the lens of fashion, spontaneity, and platonic love. These photos are compiled from random occurrences and hangouts from friends that I’ve made from highschool to now.

Description: Centered around the effect of pornography and overall media on unrealistic standards for women, especially during sexual activity. It focuses on the feeling that arises when one becomes hyper-aware of being perceived during sex, oftentimes when on the receiving end. It is a feeling of a need to perform; an obsessive preoccupation with how you look. Thoughts such as "do I look sexy enough right now?" cloud the brain until the mind and the body are completely disconnected.

Excerpts from “Saffron + Indigo”
what happens when you mix blue and yellow together? sometimes you’ll get palak, other times you’ll get the diasporic story of how education and history is scrubbed away by saffronization and simultaneously stained by the lasting indigo dyes. in this collection, explore the frustrations and thoughts of a neurodivergent queer brown student as they make sense of these two forces in the university and everyday life appearing in images of warfare, gender dysphoria, and revolutions. If nothing else, a warm bowl of dal chawal is provided to reminisce that we can all find hope beyond the paralyzing stained images presented in this collection.

CLOSE---Two groups of skaters went for hours attempting to successfully grind on the base of the statue in Columbus Circle. The young man in the foreground was part of a group of 3 skaters from Venezuela, presumably visiting NYC. The tattoos, the arms spread wide as if to imitate flight, to catch air; all were draws which called me to snap a couple shots before they left.
STATE---This image holds a special place in my heart. Taken in South Carolina, which was always like a second home to me, we see the moon peaking over palmetto leaves. It’s reminiscent of the state flag which features a crescent moon and palmetto tree side by side. This image for me is kind of a reference to my childhood, where I spent several summers in South Carolina with family.
GALAXY IN MINIATURE---The cloud-like opacity and star-like speckles are in reality grains of sand on the bell of a washed up jellyfish. This was taken on the beach in South Carolina, which was practically littered with Jellyfish on this particular day. Their alien-like bodies only further create this analogy to space and extraterrestrial bodies.
CIRCUITS---This image represents a first foray into film photography an inherent lack of control. The original images are otherwise impossible to identify, even for myself. Mirrored streaks of light play in the image like plasma (at)tuned to a set pattern. Differences in intensity and clarity of these same streaks create both sharpness and softness which guide the viewer and only further abstract the image.
SIGNS---Similar to Circuits, this image also shows a degree of obscurity, though not as severe. Light trails left from cars create a sense of flow, and the glare from the stoplights create a sense of urgency, of need. This picture was taken across the street corner of my block on Broadway, displaying its life and vibrancy, even into the night.
